ALAN SILVESTRI

Para seguir con las bio's de compositores que ya he escuchado (por orden alfabético, como no), proseguiremos con Alan Silvestri, un grande de nuestro tiempo. Este compositor, tiene, entre otras bandas sonoras: The Mexican, Van Helsing, Judge Dredd, What lies beneath o Forrest Gump.

Galardonado con 2 Óscar de la académia (Forrest Gump y Polard Express), Silvestri es un compositor muy versatil, el cual, a cada film al que le añade su música, le busca una amplia gama de sonidos y, encontramos temas que van desde un lento para un solo de piano, unas fabulosas fanfarrias creadas para trompas y trombones hasta unos increibes temas de "merengue"; como es el caso de Soap dish (1991), fabulosa banda sonora, casi desconocida, por vivir a la sombra de otras grandes producciones del compositor, como Back to the future; pero digna de ser tocada por una Big Band.

BIOGRAFÍA:

Alan Anthony Silvestri nació el 26 de marzo de 1950 en la ciudad Nueva York. Creció a varias millas al oeste de la ciudad Nueva York en Teaneck, New Jersey. Su padre era un inmigrante italiano (de la segunda generación) y su madre una inmigrante irlandesa( de la segunda generación). La músicafascinaba ya a Alan cuando era joven, aunque no había tradición musical en su familia. Él tenía solamente 3 años cuando comenzó a jugar con los tambores (esto se relaciona probablemente con sus talentos rítmicos extraordinarios). Alan: “Mis padres no estaban interesados en la música. La primera vez que oí una orquesta sinfónica tenía 20años. antes no había escuchado tal clase de música, pero la música era lo que siempre deseé hacer”
